When I asked a fellow classmate what his favourite genre of videography or photography was their response was “Nature Photography”. When I asked him why he told me that” There was a certain freedom and uniqueness to it” and that unlike product photography or most other types there are thousands of different angles you could take to capture the same scene. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what you can do differently with nature photography there are tons of different aspects you could explore to change your photo to be unique like environment, time of year, colours to focus on and if you’re are focusing on landscape or more floral aspects. Another great thing about nature photography is the universal beauty behind it where anyone from any background can look at a photo of nature and can see what makes the photo stand out as it does with no hidden meaning behind it just the scenery.
Regarding content for the genre it would be very easy to build a large folder filled with shots from different trips and you would be able to use multiple shots from the same location because a different angle on the same scene can make a whole new shot rather than product photography where the angle may change but it’s still the exact same item with little differences. Also, with nature photography content it seems to be like the only differences between good content and bad content would more rely on if it is shot well and possibly the scene and composition. Even behind the scenes shots could fill in for some good content on platforms to help show the viewer how the shots are captured.

In the image above (shot by Huntington Witherill) we can see how we can make what seems like a simple image seem like an almost surreal world or a desolate wasteland and the more we look into it the more we get lost looking at every detail the photo has to offer.

In this photo (shot by Ian Plant) we can see his own view on this image how he wanted to capture the mountain not just by them self but with the reflection as well and he talked about how he made sure to have a slight focus on the background but he chose not to make it a sharp focus because that was his own creative vision.
