I believe that facebook can add a larger online presence by allowing the user to have more key words available to broaden their chances of being picked up by a search engine. Personally I believe that if you have an account already then use it to the fullest to expand your net of public presence. But if you are like me and have gotten rid of your account good luck getting it back or making a new one facebook has unreasonably tightened the security of their site to the point where any account I have made has been locked and filed as a spam account. But as I said in my first half a platform like that is good for anyone who is starting to make a following or wants to for free and it allows you to do many things like show off your work, allow people to know what your working on, give updates on potential events or upcoming ones and also lets you connect with your followers. So if you can use it I would say go for it because its free and would never hurt to try to expand your presence online and your key word searches.
